Las Cruces, New Mexico

A Top Sun Belt Retirement Community
Located in Dona Ana County at the crossroads of Interstate 10 and 25, Las Cruces, NM introduces visitors to attractions such as historic Old Mesilla, the majestic Organ Mountains, and the Rio Grande River. The city is home to New Mexico State University with 27,000 students and has received an award for being one of the "best college towns" to retire.
Las Cruces, meaning "the crosses", is also a great retirement city for the older generations. This city is considered one of AARP's “dream towns” to retire in and has the best of both worlds. Las Cruces has become a popular southwestern destination with plenty of sunshine, golf, and outdoor recreation.

A must see attraction is the historic Old Mesilla. The old picturesque church plaza has a great assortment of shops, galleries and restaurants around the square gazebo used for weekend market days and more.

With the weekend activities on the square and church services, parking can be a critical situation at times for visitors. You can take the walking tour of Historic Mesilla to find out about its history. Old Mesilla was the site of the signing of 1854 Gadsden Purchase

The San Albino Church is one of the oldest churches in the Mesilla valley.
The original church was constructed in 1855 and the current structure was built
in 1906. It was named for St. Albin, a medieval English bishop of North Africa.
